Customer-Supplied Slide Engraving Policy

Effective Date: April 16, 2026 | Viking King Trading

This Policy governs the terms under which Viking King Trading ("the Company") accepts, processes, and engraves hardware components provided by the customer ("the Customer"). By shipping an item to the Company for service, the Customer agrees to be bound by the terms herein.

1. Firearm Component Compliance

Viking King Trading is not a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL). We only accept individual, non-serialized pistol slides for engraving.

  • Slides Only: Ship the pistol slide only. Do not ship the frame, receiver, or any serialized part.
  • Prohibited Items: Under no circumstances shall the Customer ship a serialized firearm frame, receiver, or any component designated as a "firearm" under federal law (including the Gun Control Act of 1968).
  • Immediate Return: Any package containing a serialized frame or complete firearm will be refused or returned at the Customer's expense. The Company reserves the right to report such shipments to appropriate authorities.

2. Shipping and Risk of Loss

  • The Customer is responsible for all shipping costs to and from Viking King Trading.
  • Use a tracked and insured shipping method. We are not liable for items lost or damaged in transit.
  • Slides must be securely packaged. Risk of loss transfers to the Customer once the return package is accepted by the carrier.

3. Condition and Preparation of Item

  • Stripped Slides Required: Slides must be stripped of internals (firing pins, extractors, sights) unless a disassembly/reassembly fee has been paid. Viking King Trading is not responsible for lost or damaged internal components if the slide is sent fully assembled.
  • Sights: We are not responsible for damage to or loss of iron sights, optics, or mounting hardware left on the slide.
  • Cleanliness: Items must be free of grease, heavy oils, and carbon buildup. A cleaning fee may be applied to items requiring prep work.

4. Design Approval and Execution

  • Digital Proofs: A digital proof will be sent for approval. Work will not begin until the Customer provides written sign-off. Viking King Trading is not responsible for errors in approved designs.
  • Permanent Modification: Laser engraving is a permanent, irreversible process. Once the laser has touched the metal, it cannot be undone.
  • Material Variations: Variations in metal density, heat treatment, and existing coatings (Nitride, Cerakote, Parkerizing) can affect the final appearance. We do not guarantee exact color match or depth uniformity across different manufacturers' slides.

5. Limitation of Liability

  • Coating Failure: We are not liable for peeling, flaking, or discoloration of existing aftermarket finishes during or after the laser process.
  • Mechanical Integrity: Our services are aesthetic in nature. We assume no responsibility for the mechanical function or safety of the firearm once reassembled.
  • Service Limit: Our total liability for any claim is limited to the total amount paid for the engraving service. We are not liable for the replacement cost of the slide.

6. Warranty and Returns

  • No Refunds: As this is a custom labor service on customer-supplied property, there are no refunds once engraving has been executed.
  • Workmanship Defects: If the Company makes a clerical error deviating from the approved proof, we will attempt to remediate or provide a credit for future services.

7. Customer Representations and Indemnification

The Customer warrants they are the legal owner of the slide and that the requested engraving does not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property rights. The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold Viking King Trading harmless from any legal actions resulting from a breach of these representations or failure to comply with firearm laws.

8. Customer-Provided Designs, Sourcing, and File Compatibility

  • 15% Discount: Applies when the Customer provides a production-ready SVG file.
  • Design Sourcing Fee: If Viking King Trading must find and purchase a design on the Customer's behalf, the Customer will be charged the base file cost plus a 10% sourcing fee.
  • File Compatibility: Only SVG files qualify for the 15% discount. Other formats (JPG, PNG) may incur design cleanup fees.

9. Abandoned Property

Items left in the Company's possession for more than sixty (60) days following completion of service due to the Customer's failure to pay or provide a valid return address will be considered abandoned and may be sold or disposed of to recover costs.

10. Right of Refusal

We reserve the right to refuse any job for any reason, including designs that are illegal, offensive, or technically unfeasible for our equipment.

11. Non-Compliant Items — Read This Twice

Viking King Trading is NOT an FFL. Shipping a firearm frame, receiver, or complete firearm is not an "oops" — it can create a federal felony situation.

  • Zero Tolerance: If we open a box and find a frame, receiver, or complete firearm, we will not contact you first. We will immediately secure the package and contact the ATF and local law enforcement.
  • No Returns: We will not mail a non-compliant firearm component back to you under any circumstances. It will be handled as a compliance issue and may be surrendered to authorities.
  • Regulatory Hazard Fee: A $250 flat non-compliance fee is due immediately upon notice for administrative burden, compliance handling, and business disruption caused. This is separate from any other amounts owed.
  • Customer Responsibility: You are solely responsible for knowing what you shipped and whether it is regulated.

12. Legal Warfare & Indemnification

  • Broad Indemnity: The Customer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Viking King Trading and Greg West personally from any and all claims, investigations, seizures, charges, fines, and expenses (including attorney fees) arising from the Customer's acts or omissions.
  • Internal Time: Viking King Trading may bill internal compliance time at $300/hr in 0.25-hour increments for time spent dealing with Customer non-compliance.
  • Liquidated Damages: If the Customer's shipment triggers any federal, state, or local investigation or ATF contact, the Customer agrees to pay a minimum of $10,000 in liquidated damages, in addition to all actual costs and fees.
  • Service Fee Cap: Viking King Trading's liability for damage to or loss of Customer-provided items is limited strictly to the amount paid for the engraving service.
  • Design IP Warranty: By providing any design file, the Customer warrants they own it or have a valid license. If Viking King Trading is damaged due to an infringing design, the Customer agrees to pay ten (10) times any claimed or awarded damages plus all attorney fees.
  • No Appearance Refunds: Engraving is permanent. No refunds for subjective dissatisfaction with how the engraving looks on a specific material or finish.

13. Full Cooperation

  • If a Customer ships any non-compliant item or violates this Policy, the Customer authorizes Viking King Trading to fully cooperate with federal, state, and local authorities.
  • The Customer agrees Viking King Trading may provide any information in its possession (name, contact info, order details, design files, payment details, shipping details) to law enforcement and regulators as needed.
  • Jurisdiction: Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the Company's local jurisdiction. The Customer waives any right to a jury trial to the maximum extent permitted by law.
