Grit & Steel: Norse Pistol Slides and the Popo Knife Support Drop
Share
There’s a specific kind of quiet that settles over the shop late on a Sunday afternoon. It’s not a peaceful quiet, exactly, it’s more like the silence of heavy machinery catching its breath. The air smells like burnt ozone from the laser engraver, a hint of gun oil, and that sharp, metallic tang of shaved steel. It’s the smell of work. Real work.
Lately, we’ve been leaning hard into the "Steel" side of Viking King Trading. We spend a lot of time talking about beard oils and the kind of leather goods that last a lifetime, but there’s something visceral about etching a permanent mark into a piece of hardware that’s designed to be a tool of protection or survival. It’s about taking something mass-produced and giving it a soul, or at least a bit of history.
In this update, I want to get real with you guys about two projects we’ve got cooking: our new Norse-themed pistol slide engraving services and the Winchester "Popo" Knife V2 support drop. One is about personalizing your kit, and the other is about showing up for a friend in the tribe when life gets ugly. Both require a little bit of grit.
Etched in Iron: Norse Pistol Slide Engraving
We’ve had a lot of guys asking if we can take the same intricate Norse patterns we use on our wall decor and apply them to something a bit more... functional. The answer is a resounding yes, but there are some ground rules we need to lay out before we go any further.
When you decide to engrave a pistol slide, you aren’t just making a fashion statement. You’re weaving a bit of your own story into the steel. Whether it’s Mjölnir, the Aegishjalmur (Helm of Awe), or just some traditional knotwork that speaks to the old gods, it’s about making that tool uniquely yours. But, because we live in a world of red tape and legal hoops, I need to put on my "serious business" hat for a second.
The "Don't Get Us Arrested" Rules of Engagement
Listen, I’m going to be blunt because that’s how we do things here. We love the craft, but we aren’t looking to spend time in a federal concrete hotel. Please read these carefully before you even think about shipping us your gear.
- Viking King Trading is NOT an FFL: We are artists and engravers, not federal firearms licensees. This means there are very strict limits on what we can touch.
- DO NOT SHIP FRAMES OR RECEIVERS: This is the big one. If you ship us a frame or a lower receiver: the part the government considers the "gun": it is a federal felony. If one shows up on our doorstep, we aren’t sending it back to you; we are turning it over to the ATF immediately. No exceptions. Don't ruin your life (and mine) over a mistake.
- Stripped Slides Only: We only work on the slide. Before you ship it, you need to "strip" it. That means removing the barrel, the recoil spring, and all the internals (firing pins, extractors, etc.). We want just the hunk of metal.
- Permanence is Real: Once that laser hits the steel, there’s no "Ctrl+Z." Engraving is permanent. Depending on the finish of your slide (Cerakote, Nitride, etc.), the laser will react differently. We aim for perfection, but realize that metal is a natural element with its own personality.
- Own Your Designs: Make sure you have the rights to whatever you want etched. We aren't here to pirate someone else's hard work. If you're picking from our engraving catalog, you're good to go.

We take a lot of pride in the depth and clarity of our Norse work. There’s something about the way the light hits a deep-etched Valknut on a slide that just feels right. It’s a reminder of where we came from and the strength we’re supposed to carry into the world every day. The Popo Knife V2: Helping One of Our Own
Moving from personal steel to a community cause, let’s talk about the Winchester Popo Knife V2. Popo is Popo Blanco, a TikTok creator, streamer, and online personality.
This isn't a hand-forged blade hammered out by a hermit in the Appalachian Mountains. This is a mass-produced Winchester knife. It’s a solid, heavy-duty tool, but it's "production" grade. We bought it used, and we’re selling it "as-is." It’s seen a bit of life, and it’s got the character to prove it.
But what makes this specific knife special is what we did to it and how it ties into the bigger Popo-themed pieces we’ve put together.
Why the "Popo" Knife?
We’ve given it the full Viking King treatment with custom laser engraving, turning a standard utility blade into something that looks like it belongs on the belt of a modern-day raider. The "Popo" name here points to Popo Blanco and the online community around him. Every single cent from these knife sales goes toward helping Popo Blanco personally as he fights to save his home. That’s the mission here—looking out for a friend and creator in the tribe when he needs backup.

We believe in the concept of the Drengr: the warrior who possesses great courage and a sense of duty to others. Sometimes that shows up in a battlefield story, sometimes it shows up in a creator community rallying around one of its own, and sometimes it shows up in regular folks throwing real support behind a friend who’s trying to keep his home.
The Specs and the Scale
The Winchester Popo Knife V2 is a beast. We’re talking a 14-inch total length with the kind of heft you notice right away. The handle is built for a real grip, not some delicate decorative nonsense, and the whole piece has that rough, workmanlike feel you want in a big blade. It’s used, mass-produced, and being sold as-is—so no fairy tales here—but it’s still a solid, heavy-duty knife with plenty of presence.

As you can see in the shot above, this isn't a pocket knife. It’s a statement piece. Because it’s a used, mass-produced item, it might have a tiny scuff here or there, but that’s just "pre-installed" character. You aren't buying a museum piece; you're buying a workhorse that’s doing some good in the world.

We’ve also tied that same energy into Popo’s Pecking Order, which leans into the bold, custom-engraved look that makes these pieces stand out in a collection instead of disappearing into a drawer. Different knife, same attitude—big personality, rugged finish, and a whole lot more interesting than another factory blade left plain.
The sale for this blade is live now. You can find it under our auctions ending soon page. If you’ve been looking for a reason to add a heavy blade to your collection while helping Popo Blanco save his home, this is it. We’re looking out for one of our own here. Don't overthink it. Just step up.
Why We Do What We Do
Modern life has a way of making everything feel disposable. We buy plastic junk that breaks in a week, we scroll through digital images that we forget in a second, and we rarely touch anything that feels like it has weight.
At Viking King Trading, we're trying to push back against that. Whether it's a wood project for your home or a piece of steel that you carry every day, we want it to mean something. We want it to be rugged. We want it to be real.
Engraving a slide isn't going to make you a better marksman, and owning a custom Winchester knife isn't going to make you a hero. But these things serve as anchors. They remind us of the values we stand for: strength, heritage, and looking out for our own.
So, as we head into another week of grinding metal and shipping out orders, take a second to look at the tools you carry. Do they reflect who you are? If not, maybe it's time to put some marks on them.
Keep it heavy, keep it honest, and for the love of all that is holy, don't ship us any frames.
See you in the shop,
